ABA Appts/Counseling

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)

  • Applied Behavior Analysis is a type of therapy that focuses on teaching certain behaviors through a series of rewards and consequences.
  • ABA therapy helps enhance communication, social, and learning skills.
  • The first step in ABA therapy is for an assessment to be conducted. A child and their parent or caregiver will meet with a licensed ABA Therapist.
  • The child’s needs and goals will be assessed through a series of questions and interactions. From this meeting, the licensed ABA Therapist will tailor a treatment plan.
  • The treatment plan will be developed to guide all team members in strategies that should be utilized to improve desired behaviors.

The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) curriculum-based program is integral to many Special Education programs internationally. It is a holistic support that enables consistency and positive reinforcements in the social, academic and home environments.

This approach teaches desired behaviors, lessening the incidence of inappropriate behavior through repetition, reinforcement, role play and video monitoring. Data shows when these programs are used with fidelity, more defined boundaries are set, there are fewer accidents, and more options can be utilized in presenting new material to these exceptional students. SENHELP offers customized treatments, accommodations, and a plan, based on virtual, scheduled individual analysis appointments that evaluate behaviors, reactions, and triggers by a certified ABA therapist. Teaching the student about adaptability is a powerful tool used to differentiate between adapting to cope and adapting to win.
